Fire protection pipes out PE 100-RC black
The PE 100 and PE 100-RC materials has minimum required strength of 10 N/mm² while PE 100-RC has a much higher resistance against rapid crack propagation. Because of this properties PE 100-RC material is the perfect soloution for sand bed free or trenchless installation methods. Furthermore, RC-material is well suited for fire fighting systems, water contaminating substances and protective cabling of high and extra high voltage cables and has been successfully used since many years.

Due to the permanent development of PE molding compounds in recent years, the performance of PE pipes and fittings has been significantly improved. Polyethylene is classified not only according to its density (LDPE, MDPE, HDPE), but also according to the length of its molecular chains (PE 300, PE 500, PE 1000) or the strength classes according to ISO 9080 (PE 63, PE 80, PE 100). A significant advantage of the material is the excellent UV stability of the material colored black with carbon black.
PE 100-RC - Full Notch Creep Test
In the Full Notch Creep Test (FNCT), stress cracking resistance is tested. According to PAS 1075, the PE 100-RC compounds have to withstand 8760 h, which is almost 30 times longer than PE 100.
Pipes made of PE 100-RC for radiation exposure
Pipe systems made of PE 100-RC are basically suitable for use in the area of high-energy radiation. As a rule, radioactive wastewater contains beta and gamma rays. For many years, pipes made of PE have proven their worth in the removal of radioactive wastewater from hot laboratories and as cooling water pipes in nuclear power engineering. Even after years of use, PE pipes do not become radioactive.
Physiological harmlessness of PE 100-RC
In its structure, polyethylene complies with the required food regulations (according to BGA and KTW guidelines). PE piping systems have been tested and approved for drinking water suitability.
Chemical resistance of PE 100-RC
The very high resistance of PE 100-RC to a wide range of acids and alkalis can be explained by its non-polar structure. Due to this non-polarity, the material is resistant to non-oxidizing acids and alkalis as well as to aqueous solutions of salts. PE is resistant to solvents up to 60 °C, but is swollen by halogenated and aromatic fats and waxes. PE 100-RC has limited or no resistance to strong oxidizing agents such as nitric acid, oleum, ozone, hydrogen peroxide or halogens. Our chemical resistance list (Link: Chemical Resistance Complete) serves as a first indication.
