Sealing
To prevent environmental damage, sealing (bentonite mats, polymeric geomembranes, membrane sealing) plays an important role because it protects the soil and groundwater from unwanted contamination.
Our high-quality, regranulate-free geomembranes made of PEHD, PELD, PEVLD or PP are available in thicknesses varying from 0.75 up to 4 mm in smooth and textured type. The DIBt-certified geomembranes comply with the current environmental standard for tank construction for storage/fillings/ handling plants.
Bentonite is a special clay characterized by very low permeability and high swelling capacity. It is embedded between two geotextile layers, which prevent free swelling and creating an extremely impermeable layer. This layer corresponds to approx. 1/100 of the permeability of 30 cm of natural loam. 1) For particularly high bond and shear strength, the two geotextile layers are bonded together by needling.
Advantages over mineral barrier:
FRANK membrane waterproofing systems have a multi-layer structure. A special, reactive geotextile is used between the two outer plastic waterproofing membranes: Briposan. If the membrane is damaged, Briposan reacts with the penetrating aqueous medium and repairs itself independently.
