FRANK VTP for geothermal energy

Effective geothermal use of the ground in case of limited borehole drilling depth

The FRANK VTP® (Vertical Thermpipe) is a near-surface geothermal system designed for use in areas where drilling depths are limited. It has been specially developed for areas where conventional geothermal probes cannot be used due to regulatory, technical or economic restrictions.

Unlike conventional geothermal probes, the FRANK VTP® does not operate at great depths; instead, it uses the upper subsoil for specific heat extraction purposes. Suitable extraction capacities for renewable energy can be achieved at drilling depths of just 6 to 12 metres.
This makes the system ideal for locations where deep drilling is not possible, opening up new applications for geothermal energy.

Factory-prefabricated FRANK VTP® elements enable simple, fast and reliable installation. The shallow drilling depths allow cost-efficient drilling methods to be employed, such as with hollow auger drills.

With a design life for generations, the FRANK VTP® offers a durable, cost-effective solution for using renewable energy, free from the typical requirements and restrictions of conventional geothermal probes.
