Overview of high-purity plastics

PVDF-UHP Pipe Systems (Ultra High Purity)

For more than 25 years, PVDF-UHP pipe systems have been used very successfully in the semiconductor industry. This is because PVDF-UHP is particularly pure and, unlike many other plastics, contains no additives such as UV stabilizers, plasticizers, lubricants or flame retardants. This particularly high material quality is therefore ideal for transporting high-purity media in ultra-pure water plants and supply systems in industry.

Contamination due to leaching is virtually eliminated with this pipe system.

Advantages of using PVDF-UHP pipes and fittings:

  • good mechanical and physical properties
  • high safety margins
  • excellent long-term behavior
  • highest achievable weld seam quality (IR-, butt- and bead-free welding)
  • lowest leaching behavior at low and high temperatures
  • excellent surface quality (low surface roughness, no micropores) ensures low risk of biofilm formation

PP-Pure & Polypure Pipe Systems

The PP-Pure (PP-HP grey) and Polypure (PP natural) pipe systems are made of specially selected polypropylene material - PP-R (polypropylene random copolymer). These products do not contain plasticizers and are characterized by their low density and excellent workability.

Advantages of using PP-Pure and Polypure pipes and fittings:

  • good mechanical properties such as improved impact strength
  • high pressure resistance and thus greater safety in use
  • very low leaching behavior, especially at media temperatures < 50°C
  • very good weldability
  • cost-effective compared to other materials

ECTFE Pipe Systems

ECTFE has an unique combination of excellent chemical resistance and at the same time high mechanical strength - even at high temperatures. Its properties makes ECTFE versatile and a cost-effective solution in ultra-pure media supply.

Advantages of using ECTFE pipe systems:

  • best surface quality of all fluorine materials
  • high purity even at high operating temperatures
  • excellent weldability with IR welding technology
  • safe in application
  • excellent chemical resistance to ultrapure media used in semiconductor and solar cell production

PVDF-Vent

Particularly in the area of process exhaust air, the highest demands are placed on the pipe system. Irregular operating conditions such as different exhaust air concentrations and operating temperatures require a pipe system with excellent chemical and mechanical resistance.

Advantages of using the PVDF-Vent system:

  • Corrosion resistance
  • safe and cost-effective connection technology by welding
  • FM 4910 tested
  • comprehensive product range tailored to the specific application area

Safe welding connection of PVDF, ECTFE, PP-Pure and Polypure

In addition to the high product quality of the PURAD pipe system, the connection technology and installation are also important factors for the safe operation of an ultra-pure system.

FRANK offers you safe solutions - both for the welded joint and for the pipeline installation: Infrared welding technology (SP series)

  • Infrared welding technology (SP series)
